How many of you guys have seen one of these? I've used one a little bit, and I've seen my dad use one on countless bream and crappie. If you're not going to fillet 'em, it's the only way to go. Way better than a knife or just scraping the scales off.

if you are going to scale them the only to go is a pressure washer it will take the scales of quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nimrod, I'm surprised. We used one all the time, before we switched to filleting...about 15 years ago. We finally wore one out, and we scoured the internet to find a new one. Of course we haven't used it in a while, since we fillet now...but if we ever go back to bream fishing, I'm sure we'll pull it out again.
Agrihawg, I think that if a person liked their fish scaled then I would definately try one. I would like to try to scale some and then fillet them leaving the skin on the fillet. I really like the taste of scaled crappie but just got into filleting with an electric knife.
My dad bought some years ago before we started fillet'n our catch. I perfer the pincher type skinners my self. You can still find those things on Ebay.Quote:

I agree with Nimrod. Useless!!!
My dad has mentioned to me that they only worked well on bream, since they tended to be smaller. He said a slab crappie were too big for it.
