Got inspired by a post on here so I decided to throw together some "boo buckets" from the leftover cane I use for blinds during duck season. Gonna sink them after church today. What do yall think?Attachment 79934

They look pretty good to me. They'll hold fish. Are you planning on dropping them all together?
Build it they will come.
Haven't decided where we are going to sink them yet. Found a nice drop from 6'-20' that was holding a bunch of fish. May line them up on it.
I'm not sure fish will get on those. Just send me the coordinates and I will check them every once in awhile and let you know if the fish are on them.:biggrin
Looking good.
So after you drop them how long before fish will use them. I been think about some my self
I dropped some on a Wednesday and caught fish out of them on Saturday.
Nice cover. Just let us know where you sink em HEHE!!!
I've heard they will work but location is everything. My dad and I made a bunch but we used the PVC in them instead of cane in hopes of having a place for a long time. We placed them out at the mouth of a cove where we'd had a little luck in the past, out past the brush line in about 18' of water. To this day we've never caught crappie off them. You have to be on a lake with good crappie numbers and where you put them is key too. If you place them anywhere up river or along the channel you'd better tie them puppies down or they'll wash out. I've sunk loads of cedar before but never in a good crappie lake and it did no good:mad:. I've heard another trick to keep them upright on the bottom is to take rebar and slightly bend it, poke it through the bucket in an X pattern then pour your cement in so it balances it upright ^^^ like shown. I wonder if water hose would float upright or not also...maybe another idea to put in the buckets.
Those look good. They will find them fast.
