Ice Fishing
Cancelled my ice fishing trip to Colorado that I had planned for this weekend because of high winds/warm temps on the Front Range! My spirits were lifted after reading CrappieDoc's post about walleyes at Marion, now with the cold temps its iced up enough that you can't put a boat on but not enough to walk on! Go figure!
Recieved my order of live spikes and waxies Thursday evening and my custom made Thorne Bros Tripwire ice rod showed up yesterday!
I guess I'll have to head to Nebraska to find thick enough ice....

Around my area it seems like we will get about 3 inches of good ice on small waters then its 50 for a few days. Would like to hit the ice atleast once this year!

I hear ya droptine, i blame myself because i ordered a bunch of ice gear back in december and jinxed it. Blame it on la nina or southern oscillation or whatever im starting to doubt getting close to the fishing that we've had the last few years.....nice looking rod there, I really like the look of those thorn bros with the new spring indicator they seem to be really sensitive without the freeze-up problems...i went with the new fenwick ice rods and added the st croix spring that i really like but wish i would have bought a med/lt instead because its kinda floppy especially in the wind...if ya got a trip planned to go north shoot me a pm
