New to crappie fishing
Hello all. I'm new to crappie fishing and new to the board as well.
I have found some really good info on here, but I am wondering. What's your advice for someone who is relatively new to the sport of crappie fishing? For instance, high percentage marine geography and methods to find fish if you're not the best at reading a depth finder, etc. The pictures some of you guys post with ice chests full leads me to the conclusion you can somehow see underwater. I haven't reached those skills yet, but I'd sure like to catch a few of those tasty fellows.
I have a 15 foot flatbottom with a 20 hp motor, so i can pretty much get into anywhere I want.
Thanks in advance guys.

Ask the local fishermen what depth they are finding their fish, follow that contour, you'll catch fish..watch fishfinder,,see what its telling you when you find fish,,,repeat as necessary,,you'll soon develop the ability to decipher what the fish finder is telling you..piece of cake...and welcome gto the forum

Meatgetter, I'm in Bryant. I figure I'll try Conway or Overcup this weekend. I went to the little Maumelle weekend before last and the big Maumelle last weekend. All I got was a lousy bass. The wind was really bad, though, and i didn't see one other boat around. I imagine I was in a bad spot. I'd like to get to where I can tear them up on the AR river just due to the fact it's closer to home, but there's so many different places they can hide.
