Darken New Sinkers
What will speed up the darkening of the lead? I trout fish alot and I hate nothing more than a bright silver sinker... I figure that just leaving them out in the elements would eventually do the trick but do any of you know anything that would darken them quicker? Crazy question I know!
Thanks,

I soak mine in vinegar. It does the job quickly. I soak them for a couple of hours and take them out. You won't see a differance until they air dry for a while.

Buy a bunch, let them sit in water for a while and then sit out in the open. Just like in your tackle box if left out lead will soon turn a dark gray. It will also oxidize (looks like a skim of soap) if not put away. If you have time, just leave them out in the open until they turn color and then put them in a tight container without any mositure. Do not put them in a tight container wet because I think they will eventually oxidize which for me means they go back in the melting pot or there thrown away.
