I just bought a 24 volt trolling motor. I am not going to run an onbourd charger at this time. What is the correct way to hook up my battery charger to the two batterys to charge them?

You will have to charge each bat seperate. or get a 24volt charger. or disconnect jumper and charge parralell. +to+ -to- and hook charger to one Bat.
charging parallel is fine but i would charge each battery indivdually after a hard day fishing that really drained your batteries. Parallel seems to charge one battery far more than the other if they have low amperage, leading to shorter battery life, but after a day of light trolling motor use parallel its fine and much easier.
I use a MinnKota onboard three bank charger....one pair of leads to the cranking battery and the other two pair of leads go to the two TM batteries. So each battery has a pair of leads connected to it. I do not have to disconnect the jumper. This sytem works great.
Two chargers, one for each battery is the best option. You can buy two cheap 12 volt chargers and hook one to each battery and plug them into the same source.
I know, but get a dual bank charger and get rid of your headaches. Some are on sale now.
Yep if ya can't afford the charger and like me ya might can't afford the trip???????????????????????????????
