Fluid beds

Well I did it and bought a fluid bed. Man I love it, it makes it so much better. There is no contest, it is that much better. I added pics of my first batch. I also posted a pic of my new "Super takle making" station. I looked all over the place for fluid beds that were cheap and good, I ought to kick myself that I did not look on here firstbanghead Look up Bugman, he is a missouri mod. He has fluid beds for half the price of every place I looked, unless you build your own. It is so nice making jigs from start to finish. This is my first batch so don't be too hard on me. :p

bugman has some great products. Practice on keeping the eye out of the paint. I use needle nose and grab the jig about the bend. I can then keep the eye completely out of the paint. Dip it horizontal instead of vertical.

Wow thank you. Did not even think about that! I will give it a try

I don't have time to explain what I do right now, but will later if you want. I use wood tooth picks to open the eye after dipping.

I use an eye breaker, after I cure them and the paint pops out easily for me.

Okay can explain now. I use the tooth pick as soon as they come out of the paint and usually take me a bit longer the way I do it, but don't really care. I stick it through the eye and usually wii each side of the eye agains the side of the tooth pick. If one happens to close in the oven I wait until tying and has a skinny bodkin just for heating up and stick it through and melts the paint out and clean with thumb nail or one of the little torch cleaners if need be. Tis bodkin has only one purpose as I have other ones for everything else.

After I cure mine a eye breaker will not get it out as it's way too hard and the only way then is my heat bodkin and stick it though hot enough to melt it out. I don't care for cleaning pliers or hemostats all the time getting paint off that I end up getting one them if I clip over the eye like many do. Plus I really prefer the eye having the same color paint on it. Guess it's really good for me I don't try to make money doing this and is my hobby. It's got so I am more than busy for the last 4 years I have been behind, but part of it I guess is my fault, plus with my bad back and other body parts I can't tie as many hours as I use to. Still keep me busy which is what started me doing this in the first place as once I quit the market trading I just didn't have anything to do and was not going to watch TV all day and can't really fish all day every day asa my body will not take that either.

I love the station it looks like you got it all right there at your finger tips.....glad you like the fluid bed they sure make life a bunch easier.All good advice above,i do it exactly like hunter with the exception of the pliers i just hold the hook at the bend with a little practice you'll never have a drop of paint in the eye you just have to have enough paint in your cup to get it up near the top,thanks again Miller.
