Does anyone remember the old PinPoint trolling motors and Graph that interfaced with it?A guy on the Springfield Mizz Craigslist has both for sale for $150.00. He says the trolling motor puts out about 60lbs, and moves his 19ft. glass boat around with ease.You used to be able to set the graph at a certain depth breakline and the trolling motor would follow that breakline depth wherever it went. Great if you find fish at a certain depth. You could stay in that strikezone! Thought it was kinda cool!

Yes, I remember them. The trouble is they were only on the market for a few years, maybe 3 or 4 and weren't around long enough for them t improve their function. Were said to be reliable graphs and the interface worked fairly well. Were much more popular with the walleye guys. Not sure I'd go 60# on a 19 foot glass boat due to wind drag though but at 150 on a budget, that's an awful good buy if it works and functions well. Even if the interface stinks (I've never used one) you'd still have a decent motor and functional depth finder.

I remember a fishing show with Lonnie Stanley of Stanley Jig fame using one and he was catching suspended green carp on a certain breakline. That unit worked like a power-drive Kota and kept him in the fish that day.I also remember that Al Lindner of In- Fisherman fame had the best Interface you could buy at the time on his boat!! You know back then trolling motors had a lot less trust than what's available today! Duh!! I run Minn- Kota and Lowrance myself on my Express. Oh!, by the way, nice looking base plate trolling motor installation on your boat. I need to take by boat off the trailer and do some paint and carpet on the bunks and guide-ons.Alot of people forget, It's the trailer that gets your boat to the ramp! I remember at Flower lake a guy showed up at the ramp with a flat tire went ahead and launched, and said I'll worry about it when I get back! What, no spare? We all need to do a trailer check!!

Good advice.

If someone wanted one of those that seems like a good buy. I have seen a few parts and the graphs on eBay pretty cheap so it looks like you could keep it working with out a lot of expense. Like WB they seem like they would. Lend themselves to deeper water fishing than crappie. Like you I watched a couple of shows years ago where they were green carp fishin on long breaklines and it looked like they were the ticket. Like the Studabaker car, way ahead of their time.

Motorguide bought out Pin Point and made a model like it for several years. They work good when they work, but the problem was they break. I think Motorguide called it a PVT or something like that.

I was a rep for Motor Guide when they bought Pin Point. That motor could do some fantastic things. Only problem was reliability. That motor would already be mine for $150.00. GREAT deal.
