If you go they have been biting pretty good in the channel deep on jigs. Only two places you
can put in .If you put in at the IP park be sure to use the south part of the ramp as the other
part is short, other place is sandy point then go south till you find the boats or from park go up
the lake north. Have been mostly hand size to 3/4 #.
Fished wednesday and thursday at Lakeview in the main channel just north of the park bite was slow but the fish were all good sized had 8 one day and 20 the next day fish were in 20 ft plus water and I was fishing 16 plus feet using hair jigs a variety of colors pink purple chart caught the most fish for me but I changed jigs a lot hoping to find better results did not find a better color combination .

Thanks for responding guys. We went Monday and dang near got blowed off the lake. We ended up with about a dozen including one over 2lbs. We fished right out from the state park in about 20' of water about 16' deep on jigs. We bought the year license and will be back for sure but I'll dang sure check the wind before I do. I bet theres some good ones that come off of that lake.
Recently moved to Homer from Minden and I hear a lot of good reports on Erling . Its not too far from where I live so I think im going to learn it myself . Mozzy10 , are the fish still biting at the port ? leeboy
Nothing like it used to be. There used to be some of the largest white perch
one ever wanted to catch but lake erling is just coming back. Still has some
nice fish though.Hope to try the blue cat tomarrow or friday.
homercrappie, I didn't get to go last weekend but 2 weekends ago they were still biting. The last report I got is that they had moved out of channel and into the big flat just north of the port. Catching in about 12 foot of water.
