Bass Tackle's Twinjector

Just received mine in the mail and had to go try it out. So far I am disappointed in the performance of this rig. Both the injectors included in the kit are much stiffer than My jacobs injector. Could not tell if I was stopped up or not and also did not get a good seal on one shot and blew streams of hot plastic horizontal off the top of the mold after it filled. Luckily none of it hit me. Had safety gear on but still not good. Discolored some plastic too so I thought it was time to quit before I threw a fit. Trying to get these laminates worked out is about to get the best of me. I'll cool off and try it again tomorrow maybe. I just don't get it. I can make grubs with different color tails but can't make a shad stinger type bait with a horizontal laminate without cold cracks.CF

shouldnt be a problem, new injector will be tight as the seals are new. use a little lube and they should move real smooth. Just make sure they seat in to the blending block. After a little practice it goes right in.

can you use this type injectors on a jacobs mold?

Have not tried it yet. Jacobs has an adapter You will need for his molds except for some of his newer molds. I do not have it yet. Thats why I have not tried.CF

Don't give up on it. You will get it figured out! The only time I mess up with it is when I get in a hurry.

I just got mine a week ago and I had similar issues... I lubricated mine with worm oil (some say PAM works good also) and that helped a lot. I also have to preheat them ...and especially the blending block or the plastic cools too fast. I notice that after 2 shots...everything seems warm enough.

I also use the injectors individually for awhile to "break them in"...and that also seems to help.

I read on another site to be careful not to tighten the middle connector to hard...seems unlikely that you could put enough pressure on that think aluminum to cause it to bind...but it did seem to help.

I am getting a lot better....with a LOT of practice! I'm still having a heck of a time doing multiple molds before the plastic starts to cool. But once everything gets really hot...I get a lot better results there also.
