89' 70 hp evinrude?
was on the water today and other than starting it the first time (cold natured) it started just fine until i was getting ready to leave. it would crank but not start up. it ran fine when it started but i am mechanically challanged and do not what to check first. any suggestions would be helpful.

Kill Swicth ? accidently pulled, if it has the original rubber boot type kill switch lanyard make sure the boot isn't rotted allowing kill switch button to stick out even though lanyard is attached. I would remove the lanyard and hold button in with my finger and see if it fires, if not remove plug wires from all plugs, install an old plug and crank engine to see if you have spark, no sparrk most likely power pack, good spark most likely fuel related, stick a pocket screwdriver in the fuel connector being carefull of the o-ring and pump some gas in a glass jar to see it there is water in the fuel, it would look milky and when it settles water will be on the bottom and very visible. Try those things and see what happens. Tom

thanks tried the kill switch because i remeber hitting it today. no luck so i will give the others a try tommorow

put new plugs in today and noticed the plugs were dry and on the opposite of the fuel line was a red switch my brother flipped down and back up and she started right up. not sure what he did but it started all day today
