i saw this listed as an option on the humminbird site, does this mean a transducer with a cord?
From what I can tell, it's a cordless transducer (hence wireless), but I think you actually tie it to a rod and cast it out. As you reel it back to you, it sends data to a small receiver and screen for you to see what's down there.
my bubby has one of these (more than once I somehow ended up with it.. don't know how that happens)... they work great.. just tie it to the end of your line---use big test line---cast it out and poof.. send you back a not to bad image of whats going one where your fishing... mostly used for bank fishing...they need to make a rechargable one though.. sucks batteries like you wouldnt belive!

These sonar ‘bobbers’ use a wet switch so that they activate when they are cast into the water and deactivate when out of the water. The problem is when you store them in a wet tackle box or with something metallic as it can cause the sonar bobber to turn back on and run down the internal battery.
These have been around for many years now and are known as our SmartCast line of products.
