Carrier IQ

I got this in an email. Is it for real?

"If you have any Smart Phone OTHER than a Apple iPhone you have a "SPY Software" hidden on your cell phone tracking everything you do on the phone, type, Text, search, tracking phone #'s, keystrokes, where you go & every time you use your apps! "Carrier IQ" go ahead & check it out on the Internet! Big Brother is watching your every move & you didn't know it was on your phone & tablets too! Androids are the most abused! It effects your Battery! Carrier IQ know more about you before Google does!!! (They are spying on you Too!!!) You can't take it off & you can't Opp Out either!!! If you would like to see "Carrier IQ" in action just go to YouTube!!! There is a App out there called "Voodoo Simple CarrierIQ" to check your phone & see if you have it installed & if it's running in the background! Every Carrier is using it on all smart phones except a iPhone & I believe Google Phones (google won't allow it as they do the tracking them selves & don't want to share all the info that they sell to other company's, how Google makes money)
Remember your paying the Carriers to let them do this! A Class action Law Suite has been filed so far by only one person!"

I have the Iphone4...

I don't know if it's actually Carrier IQ...but the Iphone also has it's own data collecting going on in the background,,,

I found it when I was researching the Iphone battery drain problem in the new IOS 5.0

Settings/General/About/Diagnostics & Usage/

The Iphone default is "Automatically Send" ...which means the Iphone is sending who knows what to Apple...

Select "Don't Send" if you don't want the Iphone to secretly send data to Apple....

(It also seems to help some on the battery drain issue)
