Question for Humminbird Greg

Got all the parts to put a ducer on the trolling motor. In the instructions for the TS3 switch it says if you wire the switch directly to the battery you need a battery switch to prevent the switch from running down the battery. My boat has no fuse panel so that is how i will have to wire it. What kind of battery switch do I need and where can i fibd one?

Any car parts store will have a battery switch. You have to run them on drag cars if the exceed a certain speed.

I'm pretty sure they are just talking about a simple little on/off switch. Something like this Toggle Switch Brass On/Off SeaDog Line 420465-1 - iboats.com

I would think your (Barnacle Bill) right but he said a battery switch. which would have to handle 500-800 amps.

From this I'd say what Bill is talking about would work. All youre doing is killing the power when the boat is off the water.

Connecting the Power Cable

Connect the Transducer Switch power cable to the boat’s fuse panel (usually located near the console). If you must
connect to a battery, connect to a battery switch (not included).
1a. If a fuse terminal is available, use crimp-on type electrical connectors (not included) that match the terminal on
the fuse panel. Attach the black wire to ground (-), and the red wire to positive (+) 12 VDC power. Install a 3 amp
fuse (not included) for protection of the unit. Humminbird® is not responsible for over-voltage or over-current
failures.

A 3amp toggle switch would work fine in this case... They need to word this better. Autozone has it for $2.00
