Anyone fish crappie in Melton Hill?

I'm going to start fishing musky this year over on Melton at the "hot hole" but I've never fished there before and I'm trying to decide if I should take some crappie gear with me when I go. If so any input and advise on how to approach it's slab population?

I have had some real good success in the few times I went. I almost always troll up in the creeks, sometimes so shallow that I will put a float on so the run 2-3'. The creek below the steam plant has been the most successful for me.
