We fished Nolin earlier in the week during a light rain and did pretty good on numbers, fishing minnow/jig combos 10-14ft down in the Moutardier area. The white bass are up again and gorging on shad-1/8oz white Rooster Tail close to the bank.
I fished Green today, though it looked like Lake Michigan for the day. The gusts of 40mph+ winds left the main lake in whitecaps and I took waves over the bow the whole way back to the state park. The bite was still good between Butler Creek and the Dam but the wind and waves made it too hard to fish more than a couple of hours-left with 6 more than 10" for supper.

How deep did you fish on Green ?
It has surprrised me , the last two trips I have done best 15 to 20 ft deep, while sometimes holding in over 30 fow.
Seems odd for this time of year with water temps 55 - 60 to have the fish holding so deep.
Colayn ... I wonder if the turnover that Green just had is the reason for the fish still being so deep ?

Dutch ... it looks like the GRL fish haven't gone any deeper/shallower than they were the past few months, but just moved off the flats & over to the channel.
I'm wondering about which species are being caught in these two depths. Logic says the Black Crappie are likely the ones being caught in the 5-7fow & White Crappie in the 14-18fow ... but, is that the case ??

I prefer the "open water" fish myself. Like to fish structure and deep cover.
Thinking of that, I spend so little time looking shallow I wouldn't know if they were biting there or not.
All whites on open water.
