Learned Something Today about Meatgetter #89

What I learned was that bass love that darned thing. I put in on Ouachita at Hwy 27 thinking I might be able to get out of the wind some, not likely. The wind just kept getting worse as the morning went on. It felt like is was blowing a steady 25 with gusts up to 40. So, I made a run way up in the river trying to get away from it some. Fished that #89 meatgetter around any cover I could find and only caught a few black bass. Finally decided to throw it on a rock outcropping just for the heck of it, and that's when it all started. Must have caught 12 spotted bass and had one smallmouth too. Those spots seemed to love that thing, just couldn't find any crappie willing to give it a try. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

Hey Meat, if you will tie some of them things with about a 1/0 hook on some 1/8 to 3/16 jigheads I bet you can market them to bass fisherman. I might even buy a few packages.

I like those sickle style hooks. I have never tried them until I bought this batch of jigs from you. When you stick a fish with them they stay stuck!!! I'm gonna give them crappie another try tomorrow I think but at a different lake this time. Ouachita has just been awful lately for crappie fishing, can't figure it out, but the wind didn't help at all today.
