Arkansas Rainbows
My wife and I decided to take a trip to north Ark. this weekend to see the last of the leaves. Went to Norfork River Resort in Norfork. Caught/released 15 rainbows, cutthroats and browns Friday afternoon in the river next to the lodge but they were pretty small. Tried again Saturday morning and caught 25 in about an hour and 20 that afternoon in about an hour. Tried one more time at the handicap access this morning and managed 8. The wind was howling about 40 mph the whole time we were there but still a good weekend.

Tbone sounds like a great time you and the wife had there in north Arkansas. Man even the leaves down here are starting to look good. My wife said she really like the real red ones. I really enjoyed your article on Catahoula lake in this months sportsman mag. Been catching a few good ones down on black lake here lately. Catch ya later.

J_Row, actually I was the only one fishing. My wife just enjoyed the leaves, food, and getting away from home for a few days. We also went up to the Quarry Dam fish hatchery. There's a creek there that runs into the North Fork river that has a little waterfall. The brown trout are spawning this time of the year and you can sit there and watch dozens of them trying to jump up the falls. 99/100 fail, but every now and then one will make it. It's pretty amazing considering it's about a 3 foot vertical jump. If I hadn't seen them do it, I would have bet you $100 that it as impossible. Keep up posted on Black Lake. I still need to get up early enough to give them a try.
