I have one and its an 11'. I like it just fine. Crappiepro can get you one I think. The tip end is a little beefier than most which is a good thing for me.Quote:

yellowjacket. I have a 10' and 2 12' and really like them. I also have a 10' Sam Heaton I like(Wife's). Very little difference in 10'. The Sam SS may be a little more sensitive, but I like the feel of the Ozark better.I'm comparing the 10' against the 10'. I got the set forward poles and would get rear seat reel type if I had it to do over. Hope this helps.
Yellow Jacket, you have made a good choice by picking Ozark Rods. My preference is the Tony Edger Sig Series 11 foot rear seated rod for verticle jigging. Its the lightest, toughest, most sensitive rod I have found that wont break easily and has just the right back bone to wrestle those slabs out of the brush... The Titanium tip (designed by our very own Midsouth Man) on the rod is made to reach down and poke that jig out and no eyelet to break off when hung up. It has been field tested by myself and several others who I know are some of the best Jig fisherman I know. I have turned several members onto the rods. All I have heard,is Hey Man? can you get me one of those rods? They also have replacement tips if by chance you break it (this will only happen if You step on it, slam a car door on it, or use it to beat off Wasp). It's what I use here on Lake Conway and anywhere im verticle jigging. It is Crappie Pro approved and has been put to the test. I dont work for them, im just giving you a honest anwser about the rod. The rod has brought hundred's of crappie over the sides of my boats. PM Me If you want one and will get one in your hands. Now Jerry I cant have you coming up here Fishing in my fishing holes, then bad mouthing the rod I use. That just isnt right. You wont ever see one of those ole wimpy sticks you use in my hand. I was almost going to bye one until someone I know had four of them ole wimpy sticks in the last 5 or 6 months and broke all four of em. AT least three of em wasnt his fault. HAHA!!!
Umm,,well,,I have one of the rods in question, its a tad bit heavier, but a whole lot stronger, its a fine rod in my opinion,,also had one of the "others' Its back in Houston, with a broken tip, about 5 inches of the tip broke off while unhooking a crappie...they have a problem with the last few inches of the tip, other than that,,it was a dream rod, light and very sensitive. Hey, what a way to begin my membership on crappie.com...in a debate over rods.
I see it all the time. You sacrafice strength and durability, for light and sensitive and sometimes vice versa. Sure a light rod feels great in the hand and its going to feel sensitive but will it stand up to the test of time, most cases it will not, it will break. With the Ozark Rod you have a happy medium, A rod that has strength/durability and is just as light and sensitive as most quality rods. The rod is made to go down and get ur Jig out of brush and not break providing ur not fishing water deeper than the rod of course. The Titanium tip on the rod will safe you time from retieng, pay for its self in jigs saved, and youll have a rod with a tip a whole lot longer. You can break a Ozark rod as with any rod. But you better pack a lunch cos it's going to take you awhile.
