also i heard that the shafts can be cut has anyone done this? i bought i longer shaft that needed because it was such a good price.

You will only need 2 wires. Take a voltmeter and find 24v and match it up to your TM wires while observing polarity. Barnacle Bill has a drawing somewhere.
What size wire do you have installed and how long is the power run?
-
Take your circular plug off your existing TM and place new tm wires in the matching slots of the connector that lines up with the boat socket 24v black to black and 24v to 24v. Make sense?

yea i thought about taking the old plug off, but didnt want to take it apart as it still works. i wonder if i could find one or someone has to have an old non working TM and could cut it off.

If it is four prong locking male type connector, take a look at a 277/480 volt ac connector. Lowes or some electrical supply should carry this connector. I am not a electrician.
Hand draw a picture of the connector and go to Lowes. There may be and ID number on the connector.
This is if you want to use the existing wiring.
First make sure your existing wiring has the ampacity to carry the new TM load.

leave the shaft long it is easer to pull up if the head is up you dont have to bend over sooooo far

Make sure you have at least 8 gauge wire (6 would be even better) and a 50 amp circuit breaker. Circuit should look like this when done.
