Won't Be Long Now, Snow falling in Wisconsin

I am getting excited! We are getting snow right now, so ice won't be long now!

We had snow here in Missouri too. I still have to wait another couple months for some ice action, but I still get excited.

First flurries today here in Minneapolis.

We got snow here in Pa last week and it hit 60* 3 days this week. Not a good sign for things to come i'd say.

Is ice fishing good

Oh yes, ice fishing for crappies can be very good. They will bite all winter, sometimes fabulously, provided you find them.

I would rather fish open water crappies, but if you are going to fish up here in Minnesota on most waters in most of the winter time, it has to be on ice. Ice fishing is far better than no fishing, and on the plus side, since I fish mostly on foot year around, the ice offers me more of the lake to fish. I have learned a whole lot about crappies through the ice that has helped me on open water, too.

33 here in Michigan. Were supposed to get 1-2" of snow and some pretty cold nights, but it was 60 a couple days ago.

Calling for 4" - 6" of snow here, temp finally dropped below freezing. Forecast for it being in the teens at night later this week. Crappies on ice are tasty and nearly easier to catch
