That's great prchjerker! I stayed until dark and caught 18. Mostly 9-10 inches. My biggest was 12 1/2. I caught a few with jigs, but a noon I ran to the baitshop for minnies. I didn't plan to stay that late, in fact I only caugt 2 fish after 5:00, but it was so nice out there I just couldn't leave. I'm going to have to try those slab slayers!
Thanks for pointing me toward some brush piles!
Heres a couple pics I took from Tuesday our biigest was a nice 14 1/2 incher. Its only going toget better.
Nice pic prchjerker!
I went back out yesterday and caught a limit. All but two were 10 to 12 inches and the other two(9inches) were hooked too deep to release. Mostly females. I stopped in to BPS and picked up Bobby Garland Slabslay R's before I went down to the lake and low and behold...the bait shop was closed this weekend!
Tuesday, 11 hours and 18 fish on minnows. Friday, 5 hours 25 fish no minnows...hmm Thanks for the tip Prchjerker Thumbs Up
nice job get them in the cedars again? Bobby garlands are hard to beat.
I was all over the place. I didn't go east along the dam, and I didn't go all the way north, but I think I went everywhere else that I could find a stick poking out of the water or a brush pile on the locator. The water was about a foot deeper than it was on Tuesday, and the wind was blowing harder at times. I moved around a lot hoping to find those big males, but most of what I caught was in brush between 5 and 8 feet deep. I watched the locator and could pick one or two out of a school whenever I came across one, but the wind made it tough.
Gunner, I was using a 3" pumpkin seed/pearl chartreuse with a 1/8oz jig and a 2" chartreuse/silver charteuse with a 1/16oz. With the wind blowing so hard I couldn't use the 1/16oz unless I was anchored.
