Depth Finder Problem
I have a 2005 Bass Tracker PT175. Since I got the boat new I have had problems with the depth finder giving a near accurate depth while on full plane. It will constatnly show the last depth before getting on plane until I slow the boat down again. I have lowered the transducer, made sure it was between the ribs on the bottom of the boat. Talked with Lowrance techs and nothing has helped. It is a Lowrance X37TX that came on the boat. The transducer is supposed to be a high speed transducer.
Anyone else having this kind of problem? Did you get it fixed? If so, what did you do?
Thanks

I have an 04 just like your 05, same DF/FF, same problem, I adjusted the ducer a couple times, but never got any thing different, and I don't worry about it. I run the main channel when not in familar water and go slow when I'm not in the main channel. The 37 is not that great of a DF, not a terrible, but not high $$ either. Mine works good for me as I don't have any nicks/scratches/chunks missing from the prop or skeg as of today, but subject to change the next time I go. I will guess you have to move the ducer to another position on the transom to get an accurate reading at speed as the ducer is probably in turbulent water at speed on this boat.

Thank. I have moved mine a number of times. I think I will just leave it alone. I discovered that many have the same problems. Electonics ain't always what they are cracked up to be.

I sounds like an electrical interferance problem to me since moving the transducer didn't work. Try installing a RF choke (available at Radio Shack) on the positive side of your power cable.
