Falls Thursday & Friday

Fished for an hour Thursday evening and Friday evening at Falls when the bite heats up you can catch em as fast as you want to..... they will bite anything, I was using chartruse jigs. Some pretty nice slabs can be had in Falls Lake

Way to go, FC! You're right, when the time is right, anything will work, jig, minnow, whether live or dead, and I've even used a small piece of ciggarette paper, when there was nothing else, and IT worked! Great time for those who have them, to take a kid fish'n!

I have been to Beaver Dam a few times over the past few days and under the highway 50 bridge and have not caught a thing. Times varried from morning to early afternoon. Someone said I need to go in the evening. Still confused about this bedding thing. How deep to you fish this time of year around the rocky areas of Beaverdam? Have tried live minnows and Chartreuse road runners and also some jigs.....and nothing. Caught some nice ones over the winter in deep water, but since I am still farely new, I am not sure how to find fish this time of year? Still fishing from shore and any help would be appreciated.....

Hi Shoreline. Te fish should be shallow around laydowns and brush this time of year. It seems that the mid daytime hours for me have been slow at the beaverdam area as well. I think that area needs to be fished early or late and some experimentation to find the depth they are at seems also to be needed there. The fish I have shown here came from a hot spot at around 7pm when they started feeding. You should try some of the creeks that have shore access like upperbarton and beaverdam off of Old Weaver Trail at the bridge and try some late evenings. Look for timber and brush and fish around it and you should have some luck.

tis the season

I will drop a note a couple days in advance before my next trip to Beaver Dam. Busy the next few weeks but I am hoping to get out a few times in May. Not sure how long the Crappie stay near shore, but hope to catch a bunch then.
