Hey Yellowjacket here is some place that you can find a bunch of reviews and information. Tying Tools and Vises You maybe didn't know about the sub forum devoted to just this sort of thing. I am sure you will be able to find just what you need.
As for me if it isn't 30 to 40 years old I don't use it. The older the better. Kind of like me.

I have a Mayfly Rotary vise designed by Fred Bach of Arkansas, he sells them on fleabay. I like it, price was right, nice heavy construction, comes with a base and a bobbin rest. Worth a look anyway.
You should at least to put your hands on some at a fly shop if there are any close enough. BPS and Cabela's also has some you can touch.
Other than that this link to Ohio Fly Fishing has a great look at lots of vises out there and tells about each one it's positives and negatives. It's a very good review and breaks them down by cost and all!

I agree with Skip. After handling several different makes I can say there's a big difference between them . Look and handle all you can and be patient, a good vise is a pleasure and being unhappy with it takes away from the fun to be had.
