A Few Ky River Crappie
Fished Ky River after work today and caught a few nice crappie. Bite was slow but should pick up soon. All were caught pitching curl-tail jigs in brush 10- 15 fow. Crappiehttp://tapatalk.com/mu/40bf8f1e-e3bc-e10d.jpg were holding at about 7 foot. Water temp 68. Here is a pic of Steve headed home with a nice mess.

good mess man! I been itching to do some river crappie fishing here recently, might head to the ohio or licking and see if i can get into any in next week or two. Heard the KY River been giving up nice messes of big crappie this year, thats good news. You in creeks or main riv catchin em.

We caught them on the main river. All the rivers will get better soon.

I can't wait to get to the river as soon as my new boat gets in. I fish the river a lot, what pool do you fish.

When are you going back to the Kentucky River? Where about was you and did you have a boat? I been trying to learn more and been trying the creek by Halls on the river and at the beach at Boonsboro state park (the dam) and not a bite. Maybe we could go and do lunch. Hey Fred I do fish the river some. It can be very tough at times. The crappie will move up in the creeks the first of April. Lower Howard's creek at halls will have fish in it around April. If you are going to fish off the bank I would go to the mouth of Tate's creek at Valley view. It has a bridge over it with easy access to the water.

Valley view ferry crosses the river out of Madison co. Tate's creek runs into the river just above the ferry. Look on google maps.

Is that water temp right? 68 seems pretty high.
