Tracking orders
I tried to search but didn't find anything.
Does anyone have a good spreadsheet for tracking orders? I've got a few friends who are wanting some jigs tied and if I don't write it down/track what they want, I'll probably forget. Would prefer an excel spreadsheet. If anyone has one I guess the easiest way would be to email it to me? Thanks.

I just use a spiral notebook and when someone sends a check or money order I write it in there and that way I also know the order that payment came in and who is next.

That's a simple spreadsheet to make up. Have in the past did several for material and orders, and inventory. The help bar is what I used to get me started and then my son gave me a copy of excel for dummies. That was so I wouldn't bother him all the time. Once you get on to making what sheets you need it's a breeze. Will keep track of every thing for you. Expenses, income, inventory, orders you name it great program.

It just hit me a few minutes ago that I use my book just to put down what each wants and phone numbers and such. Hat I do to get the order I tie them is this. My wife get the mail every day because she works just 2 block from the post office. She deposits what came in and makes me a copy and attaches it to the envelope and put the date it came in. I keep them next to my computer and in order by oldest date on top so it;s the next one I pick up. Some times I stack get pretty big with as many as 10 to 12 or even more at times, so this just makes me keep in order.
Simple, but very effective.

This is what I'm working with atm:

I blanked out the names. I've only had three orders so far, lol. I can see that if I got as many as Skip, tracking them in a sheet like this may be too time consuming to be beneficial.

It can get to be a race and you just have to have something so you pick up the next one in order so you don't let any slip passed their spot.

if you have office publisher you can create statements with Statement (invoice ) #'s and use a master xls to keep track of $ etc. depending on how your ordered are received you could copy and paste, or scan the data into your pc to save or import the data....

There's a lot of good software to track inventory, orders, sales, etc. A good free one is Adminsoft, which is free for basic use. You'll need some basic accounting knowledge to use it and some of the others. To get a copy go to adminsoftware.biz and download it. It's freeware so no cost unless you want extra modules.
It can get complicated as you grow with orders and inventory. It takes a little more to set up a package like this one but it gives so much more back with a lot less effort than a spreadsheet ever will. Be glad to help if needed.
