Why is it that marine engines suffer more from E- fuel more than automobile engines ?? they both have the same internal parts yet you are told to add this and that to keep the parts working and carbon from forming ,keep idle at a mimium ect , but the auto engines idle sometimes for an hour at the time, Police ,emc's ect ????
Because most people drive their automobiles more that their boats so the gas is fresher in their auto's.

The late model engines are equipped with a 'more alcohol resistant' fuel system. Unlike the older models. And the compression ratios have been pulled back alittle to prevent problems with todays octane ratings. The main reason for problems is as said above. Storage and the collection of water during storage. Alcohol evaporates very easy, rendering a lower octane fuel. And it also attracts water like a sponge. The vast majority of autos visit a station nearly weekly. Leaving very little time for the fuels to go stale. Boats on the other hand may sit in storage with lots of fuel for weeks if not months between use. (And many thanks again to RiceRocket. I purchased a gps from him not long ago. A very pleasant transaction. If he ever posts another item, I wouldn't hesitate to trust what he describes)
here in Louisville KY we've had E10 for years and I've never had any problems with it in my car, boat, lawn-mower, weed eater, or chain saw.
I do keep sta-bil in my boat.
