The culprit
When I took the puck apart, the first thing I saw was GREEN. Normally I kinda like green but not this time. LOL Anyways, I got to find one of these little buggars and rehook everything up. Art MIGHT have one like this at his shop since he works with small lektronics

looks like a reaction to a corrosive environment. Don't look good
-
I don't think this will end well.

it'll be OK, just need a new connector is all.
-
Why can't you clean them up with an electronics cleaner and a bristle brush? If not, go to Radio Shack or a stereo installer.
-
Radio Shack ya gewber. Don't tell em what it's fer tho. Jus tell em ya need one. When you tell em gps puck, they'll feel like a DD too.
-
That's one of the places I was gonna try. That one was so corroded that it'd eaten the metal away so I gots to get a new one
-
Before you start reconnecting everything, slide a piece of that heat shrink wrap on your wires. After all connections are made up, slide the wrap down and heat it up. This won't keep it 100% clean but will make it last longer.

You'll be lucky if radio shack can order in something like that. But it's worth a shot. Prolly a proprietary connector.
