Lucky 13

Well, broke my spell of "bad luck" (not catching) today. 13' depth (in 17-25 FOW) was the magic number Thumbs Up, I had 3 rods with me, one was an ultralight underspin. I don't know what the deal was, but I caught 75% of the fish on that one rod. Same depth, bait, and even line on the others, but the bobber on the ultralight was the one seeing most of the action. Was supposed to take a kid (18) along, but after waiting 30 minutes past the time I told him to be here (5:30AM), I left without him. No show, no call, nothing. Gonna tell him if it happens again, I won't be inviting him any more.

Didn't take any fish pics because after 12 hours in the boat I was ready for a shower and a soft seat Doh Kept about 30 'gills and a channel. Fortunately they have a cleaning station at the ramp. Wished dad would have been able to come this trip, he'd have had a ball. Gonna have a talk with dad tomorrow and tell him to tell his wife's worthless kids to take her for a day so me & him can go fishing. He's 86, loves to fish, but can't get out of his wife's sight (needs constant supervision).



Did get some water pics though, and watched a doe walking along the bank. Sorry for the pic, but she was standing directly under the sun (she's in the center of pic). Water looked like a sheet of glass just before sunrise.

Thanks guys! I forgot to add.....I'd decided to try the GULP baits yesterday (since I couldn't get crickets due to the Bait Shop closing). I got Crickets and the Corn Mais. I'm not impresed with either. Zero bites on the crickets, and only one on the corn. I caught all but one on beemoths. Not knocking the baits, I've read where lots of guys swear by them....just not me :p I'll give them another shot sometime (since I've already got 'em) to see if my opinion changes.
