I found this little 5ft UL on clearance and was thinking for $75 it would be a fun little bluegill rod. I'm wondering if any of you have fished one?
Thanks

I had the GL3 version of this rod. I liked it, but the action was a little soft for my tastes. (I like a little more backbone in my rods, even for bluegill.) So, I ended up exchanging it for another rod.
If you like the action, though, go for it. Loomis makes good stuff.
The GL2 is one of the lower end Loomis rods, but the price is right. I have a 6'6" GL2 I gave around 100 for, and am less than impressed with the rod. Its a well made rod, and light as a feather, just a little too stiff for what I wanted. I hardly ever use it, I'll cast with it in the winter for sauger, and then it goes back in the corner.
Friend of mine has one for light crappie duty. Seems to be alright, although I rock the St.Croix rods. I don't think it's as sensitive as my UL Avid series.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my Avids. IMO they cannot be beat
they are alright
Go to the 7 ft. try the G loomis by Temple fork outfitters. You will love it in any action . I have been fishing G Loomis for over 30 yrs . They are fantastic.
Update. I went ahead and bought the rod and while I like my sr781's the best for most crappie fishing I do I like the little GL2 for certain things. This fall I have been walking the river and its handy when in tight spots.
My buddy has the NRX 843, That is one sweet rod!! I'm thinking about one, well that's as far as I've gotten. I have a G3 843, it's been one of my better purchases!!!
My favorite crappie rod is my G.Loomis TSR801-2 GLX. Perfect action for throwing a Bobby Garland on a 1/32 jig head. Although I can only afford to have one of those.
Me and my dad have one St. Croix Avid each, and we both love them. I'd say the sensitivity and action is at least on par with the GL3 Loomis rods.
