Lake Fort Smith camping trip

Had a nice camping/fishing trip at Lake Fort Smith this weekend. I started out at just before daylight Saturday pulling cranks and I got a hit. I went to crank it in and new it wasn't a crappie. I heard a large splash and as I turned the kayak around I saw it was a huge bass. I got it to the kayak and pulled it in. I was 6-3 oz largemouth. I tried for 45 minutes to revive her but she was done. Every time I turned her loose she would belly up so I put her on ice. I went back and had a good morning and caught about 20 more crappie, 9 good keepers. That's one beautiful lake. Here are a few pics.

caught him on a green Bandit 300 across the lake from the ramp in about 15' of water trollin about 10 or 12 foot deep. I went back Sunday morning for a couple of hours and caught some more crappie. I caught a plenty of crapppie but not any slabs. Most were between 9 and 11". That one and a couple 6"ers were the only bass I caught

I want to fish conway so bad. I pass it goin to mississippi several times a year.

I bet that bass was some more fun on light tackle. Congrats on a great trip and some good fishing.:)

just curious on was you were using, a trollin motor or your feet? and how fast were you goin? hope thats not a silly question

Foot pedal power. It's a Hobie Outback kayak. I usually troll from 1.5 to 2 mph. I can do that for 10 hours a day vertually non stop. I can troll faster just haven't needed to.
