Home grown stripers
Went to Wilson yesterday looking for a train. We tossed a cast net for a while to get some bigger shad, which wasn't any problem. I was very surprised, we had 25-40 per throw yoy shad, and sorted out the 4"-6"er's. We ended up with about 6 dozen bigger shadThumbs Up Then it was on, had a couple tournament guys that knew their stuff. We caught striper's anywhere from 14' to 56', it was a fun ride. Them babies pull HARD :p, you just don't reel them in, it's kinda like snagging a passing train. Nothing huge, at least from what's there (44# state record), but some nice fish. I watched the Hell's Angels of striper fishing which was an experience. They had a boat with their tank and some guys and 5 jet ski's. The jet ski's would go back to the boat for bait after catching a fish, that's a new one for me. Something new for me and it was hard not to fish for eyes, but they played our game a little too. Just to many plows there, I can't wait for cooler water so the skiers stay home, some of them are just a-holes.
