Trying to get the wife out with me this year. We just bought a brand new ice shack and now I'm ready to outfit it with a heater. I'm looking at some space heaters, but I honestly have no idea if I need to know anything about what kind of gas is better or how big I can get. The ice shack is just a 2-person, pretty small. I've been looking at some NewAir portable heaters (anyone tried these?) but I'm open to any selections and if anyone knows of other sales, let me know.
I use a mr. heater little buddy heater in my ice shelter. I have small Size one they make Bigger size one also. the small one keeps me very warm.
We have a Rover 2 and we use a small Mr. Heater that fits on a 1 lb. bottle. It heats it good, and I refill the bottles off a 20lb'er
That smaller Buddy will do the job, but get the hose adapter and hose with the flow regulator in it and buy an 11 or 5 pound bottle. The bottle sits outside with the hose running under the edge of the shack. More room.
A note on re-filling 1 pound bottles. Its illegal to transport re-filled 1 pounders in any fashion and the seals found in the valves of those bottles tend to not work so well after a couple fillings. Maybe want to re-think do that.
Must be different than mine-I re-filled them all last winter with no leaks or problems. What state are you from? You can even buy the valve to use to re-fill them in Mich...
You need to read the entire label on those throw-aways. If I am not mistaken it states quite clearly on the label that it is against the law to re-use or re-fill them.
You must be in the gas business. You never did say where you were from. Up here in the North if you see 10 guys with 1 lb'ers -9of them are re-filling them. No body's driving 60 Mi. to Walmart to spend whatever they charge for those little 2 pack bottles when they can fill them at home. You read the label while I fill my bottles..End of point...Thanks for the Info..
I'm from Minnesota.....you know, "up north". And I've read the label. I only have to read it once to understand the implications, while some apparently don't get the meesage quite as easy as others. And no, I'm not in the fuel industry.
The message I get-is you trying to tell me what to do with my gas bottles and your wasting your time. I can and have read the label. You mean the Minnesota boys don't re-fill? Ya right. Well, probably you don't. I bet you even drive the speed limit? If re-filling my bottles is the only law I break, then I'm doing good.... I think you just want to argue and I don't have anymore time, I got bottles to fill...Quote:
