Promised ya'll a bit of boat bling on the HDS install.......

Background - I've seen this stuff used in boat rigging but never could come up with a source until now. Got it from Grainger for about $8 for 10 foot. Goofed on the first order and got a size just a bit too small, but this one is .75" and expands to 1.5". 1st order was .50 expanding to 1.25". It would have worked, but with multiple cable ends, it kept snagging the last cable end.

Much cleaner looking, I think.

Basically, it's braided heavy nylon desiged to give abrasion resistance to cabling and wires. Fairly easy to work with, but works best if you have a blind end. Finished it off at each end with electrical tape.

Looks good BUT I see one MAJOR problem Bud. I see way to many hooks getting caught up in that stuff when you're spider rigging. It's gonna be a problem, mark my words

Yea DD I was wonderin bout hooks on that stuff cause God knows I can find any piece of fabric or netting on the boat to get hung in... Jus make sure the hook is in a feesh's mouth comin in the boat

Naw, it'll get hung on the other rods, the rod holders, the trolling motor head and cable or the stinkin' rub rail before it ever gets to the FF wires. :)

You know what I actually get hung on more than anything else? My stinkin' shoe laces when I'm putting a minnow on my top hook. Might need to switch to baby bloo plastick Creekslick choos.

Seriously, it's a pretty tight weave and slick to boot. Chances are if a hook hits it, it'd glance off, but I can't recall ever hooking the FF cables. Normally gets snagged in the holders and occassionally the TM cable. Gotta go through all that before it gets the the braided cable. But even if it does, you can compress it and the weave will open up to back the hook out.
