Warning to deer hunter who feed

I know this is the wrong forum but this is important for all to see. I was talking to a feed mill manager this morning. He said with the hot weather most of the local corn grown was being turned down because of extemely high consentrations of Aflatoxins . This has been proven to kill Turkeys and in high concentrations hurts most wildlife. Know where your corn is from and if it was tested. Feeding tainted corn can cause more harm than good. A bargin from local sources may not be such a good deal..

Oh my!!!!!!!! I wonder if folks know that. I didnt. I have heard that some folks think aflatoxins is part of the reason for our turkey decline and dont think we should be feeding corn. I didnt know about the hot weather making it worse though. I wonder if the corn we but in bags from walmart/feed store is tested. I sure would hate to think I was killing turkeys.

There is also several spring blends that pennington makes for turkey and fall blends if you plant these instead of corn they get a lot more nutriants then corn alone, I also feed rice bran,

Even corn that is afloxin free from the field and mill will become toxic to wildlife if it remains on the ground too long before consumption.
