When setting up your rigs, where do you put your weight? On the bottom so that its the last thing on the line or above your hooks? Do you tie it with a 3 way, or in line. How far above or below the hooks? What style of weight do you prefer, pyramid....round.... trolling?

i wrap the line through the hole in an egg sinker 4 times and keep it about 30" above the bottom hook.
I tie a loop knot in the main line with a jig, a foot below that i slide an egg sinker with a swivel. and a 18in piece of line off the swivel to another jig.
On some of my rigs I have the weight on the bottom, about 1ft above it I have a 6" tag line with a micro spoon I tip with a minnow and 1ft above that I have another 6" tag line with just a hook for minnows. I've had good success with this rig but I also rig some like Wilbur does with jigs.
I use two pieces of Water Gremlin Bull Shot 3/16 size back to back which gives you 3/8 in weight. 3/8 gives me just the right bend at the tiip of my 14ft BnM Pro Staff Trolling Rods. Place the lead 2 ft up the line and tie the jig on with a Loop Knot below the lead. You can take this lead on and off with your hand, thus going from spiderrigging to longlining in 30 seconds. No beads, No swivels, No leaders to break and re-tie. Can retie in a jiffy if you happen to break off.
Bull Shot is crimp on bass style weights. Place the bigger end of each weight back to back to make it more streamline in the water for less drag. I use 12lb test Trilene XL fluorescent , the fish do not pay it any attention trust me. I fish beside people using 4lb. fluorocarbon leaders and catch just as many, this way you can pull it off without breaking 95 percent of the time, plus it takes very little line to spool up my Wally Marshall baitcaster cause it has a little spool compared to most baitcasters. PS if you are going to do both spiderrigging and longlining just drop back to 6lb Trilene XL fluorescent. Try this setup, I think you'll like.
This is the rig I use, rubber band in the lead, and you can adjust it to whatever length you want due to conditions.

Ive used rigs with weight on top and bottom. IE. hook/weight/hook and hook/hook/weight. Both work. I like egg sinkers. And I space them out to cover 2 ft of water.
