Scouting Camera

Anyone experiencing your baiting spot demolished but have minimal pictures? I know it's not due to how my camera is mounted. I have 3 out, one cuddeback and 2 moultries and all 3 are experiencing the same. I've read where infrared cameras do not perform well in extremely hot climate due to the sensor having a heat activated memory. If it's 100 degrees +, it's hard for it to detect a animal with a body temp of 98 degree at any distance other than a few feet, according to the article. Didn't know if this was just me.

I have busnells and haven't seen that up here, but then we don't see much 100+ temps either. It does make some sense tho. Have you seen them perform normally before this?

Yes they've been performing great up until this yr. I just got a new card in for my cuddeback and so far that seems to have fixed the problem. Seems as though those cards serve as small computers and can only write so much information on them before malfunctioning.

I don't know what resolution you are set at, but if you can reduce it (like from 8m down to 3m) you will still get nice pics, but use much less memory. I copy the pics I want to save onto my laptop and then format the card to reuse. I have two 8gig cards that I rotate.

I know with my camera in the summer heat it will eat the batteries.
