I picked up whole Guinea hen skin for a really good price. It's dyed light green. I just love the spotted feathers. It's got everything from huge primary wing feathers to itty bits of spotted fluff. Any suggestions on how to use them on panfish jigs?

Pbug is right Skip has alot of good patterns for Guinea feather jigs. Also check the sticky Jig Pictures for a few more patterns. You can use the search at the top of the page for some also.

For gills I may even just take some barbules off and tie them in as a tail so a larger feather you could make a good many, but the really small ones use whole. I would tie them flat on the hook and I have tried them both ways, but if you want them sideways you need 2 and each needs to come for about the same spot from each side of the bird so they bend together. You can just use one if tied flat which I do more now. You can also use the tiny ones on the side of a jig at the body as I have done some too. I have one I have started to take off my site because I got tied of tying buck tail to make it, but it has the side feathers like I am talking about so I will show you and this is what I call my sunfish jig.
