Trooper was stationed in Lee's Summit, but was up in Holt Co. helping with the flooding. Sounds like a hell of a nice guy. Sad story.

I saw that on the news last night. Bad stuff!!!
I heard this a.m. that the K-9 was found dead but the trooper hasn't been found yet. Said they were going to search by air. Very sad.
I know Fred personaly and he is a great family man and all around good guy.. Loved high school sports and the outdoors. Tragic loss.
This deal just sucks .. I've heard nothing but good things about him (dmac & the news) and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I wish I could have known the man.
Sounds like a great guy. That's sad.
Fred was a friend and co-worker of mine as well. He loved bow hunting, especially with his kids. He lived up around Weston and while he wasn't thrilled to make the transformation from Water Patrol to Highway Patrol / Water Patrol Division, he adapted extremely well. He had a great sense of humor and I enjoyed working with him.
I hope and pray for some closure for his family as well as my Patrol Family. We may never learn all of the details leading to his death and that in itself is extremely hard. I do know one thing. There are a bunch of troopers up in northwest Missouri who are working through this difficult situation and they will not quit until they have resolution.....that is a strong source of pride for me.
My continued prayers for his family and for all those involved in the search. Thanks for sharing dmac and sevenfiftynine.
As C N said, continued prayers for all.
Prayers sent out to family and friends. Hope he is found so they can have some closure.
