Big Indiana Slab Masters Classic news!
We are still finalizing all this years classic information, but I want to let you all in on what is going on so far with the Indiana Slab Masters Classic at Mississinewa and Salamonie this September. Russ Bailey from MidWest Crappie TV Show and Guide Service is going to be our Celebrity Weighmaster during the classic. We have secured the use of Bozarth's facility for our early check-in prior to the tournament and both days weigh-in. They have a stage to do our weigh-in both days, and Bozarths also has a dry erase standing board to post all the weights so everyone can keep track of what is going on.
We currently have 31 teams that have qualified for the classic, with the possiblity of having several more teams qualifying in the last two tournaments of the year. We now have a Host Hotel for the Classic too. The Wabash Inn in Wabash, IN is holding a block of 15 rooms for our club through August 25th, so if your going to be there, be sure to make your reservations soon at the Wabash Inn Wabash Inn
We are also working on getting some sports writers to show up and cover our classic this year. Our plan is to award all the awards from the classic on a soon to be announced date of when the plans are set (Tentative date October 8th). On this date we will be having the year-end banquet. We have a very nice place to have this, and as soon as it is locked in, along with the date, we will be announcing the rest of the information.
I hope each of your have had a lot of fun this year. Why don't you post on here and tell us what you think, or what was your favorite moment of this years Indiana Slab Masters competitions so far? I love hearing feedback from each of you that are members, and I even like hearing from the ones that are either on the fence of joining the club, or can't/won't join and the reasons behind it. I think there have been many that joined out of curiousity, and end up fishing many of the events because they see not only how much fun it is, but they are learning a lot!
