In your mind/experience what ties the prettiest most effective and most cost worthy jig.
Wow what a question. It's like most anything, it's in the eye of the beholder. Different feathers will out do others at different time IMHO so there may not be one perfect feather. I like both neck hackle and marabou equally at different times. On other times it may be a duck feather or a Pheasant or even others. That is why there are so many options and each fisherman will have his favorite probably depending much on what he has confidence in. Lots of feathes are used differently especially on flies and even on jigs if you want a palmered hackle or a collar then you would use saddle hackle.'
So for me there is no one perfect feathers. Of course this in my opinion and the same thing comes into picking what each person likes.
However it would come down to either Neck Hackle or Marabou if it's for tails and both are great.
Of course this was my opinion before yesterday before I got in a bunch of CDL.

Heck my picture folder on my computer is full of really good looking jigs that I have tied or hope to get done in the near future. So beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thats why I love this forum so many different patterns and ideas I never am board.
