i clean all my reels. i also clean reels for alot of the guys around here. its prety simple just take your time taking them apart and watch how all the springs go. use a god reel grease on the gears and a good oil on the bearings. i get my oil and grease at academy or basspro.
any particular brand of grease and oil that is good stuff??
Use some spray brake parts cleaner, blows the gunk right out and your ready to lube in minutes. It's tough to beat the Hot Sauce products. IMHO which I have plenty of
Josh, Take them to Lucky Lure. They use James King, he has cleaned reels for years.
LIPRIPPERS - I assume from your post that you HAVE fried bacon naked????? Rofl TOOOOOOOOO much information
ok i forgot all about that ill have to go check it out :)
Hot Sauce grease and oil are great. Synthetic, won't run when hot. Won't gum up when cold.
To be perfectly honest, I haven't cleaned my reels in years. Use to clean (rather flush out) my ABU's, Shimano's and Quantums when I lived along the Texas Gulf coast and used them in Saltwater, but don't really see a reason to now.
