I need to rant about the cheesy thin wire that cames with a fish finder. I have an old model Humminbird and the power leads are short. I want to move the finder from the back of the boat (it faces forward now) up front so that I no longer have to sit side ways in the boat. I want to place it so that I can face forward since I use a lot of landmarks as guides when I troll. Line up the cell tower and the white oak and troll. Using the fish finder to stay on top of the hump. With it in the back I'm constantly swivling around trying to keep my bearings. What gauge wire would be suitable for the move? I tried stripping the wire but would only get 4 or 5 strans of usable wire for the connection. I finally just burnt the end of the wires coating off so the I have a good tag end to work with. Need to move the finder about 6 feet..
