Going to visit some relatives who live near Seattle at the end of August and hope to do some salmon fishing with jigs. Probably going to be coho, but chinook are a real possibility so I'm looking for heavy wire long shank saltwater jigs in sizes 2 to 2/0 and weights 1/16 to 1/4 ounce. I'd like about five of each hook size in each weight, unpainted.
Anyone make what I'm looking for?
As Grousefly, he may do some of that size, but I am not sure since I don't use hooks that big on my jigs. I know they don't use very big hooks on flies most of the time, but they do sell hooks that big for flies, but I am thinking mostly for salt water? I believe they use a lot of long hooks for some flies, but still say #4 to #10 size. I am sure that are some 2/0 and maybe even 3/0 hooks used, but I believe there are lots using smaller hooks.
However like I said if you want something like that check with Grousefly on this site as he can do about anything.

what you prolly wanting is the mustad 32833 hooks made for salmon/steehead. Try bradsjigs or beelee jigs. They specialize in these..
I thought you had some more Pbug or did we get rid of them all? The 32833 is an awesome hook! I haven't landed as fish on them yet but they are rock solid. I did land a 25lb. snag on one which would have resulted in a straightened out hook with a lot of jig hooks. I will be using them for CHinook in the fall and I know they will land a 40#+ without a problem.
i highly recommend the 32883s. They are all I use for steelhead jigs. AND, they are much more reasonable in price than the Owners or Dacchiis.
