Catfishing at night?
Been focused on crappie for so long, I have lost my touch on catching cats. Been out three or four times this year, with stringers with only a few fish on them. What tips can you give for catfishing at night? I know they come shallow to feed, but how shallow? What method works best for the feeding fish. Its illegal to jig fish lakes in IN so thats out of the question. I have been fishing channels, and drops, with little luck. Bottom fishing with various baits. I have also been fishing in areas with plenty of wood, but that has not been productive either. I fish a couple different lakes that are loaded with channels, and a few blues, but can't seem to get on them.

If it's loaded with catfish, the best way to attract and catch them would be to chum them with a soured grain(corn, soybeans, milo)and fish for them with a dipbait like Wicked Sticky by Cattracker Baits. You won't be disappointed in the results. If you can't chum, you can still catch good numbers of fish, too. God bless.
