most are just various colors of chenille marabou and some are made with wires that were colored different colors in side a big broken cord but i make do with what i have all of them work well for crappie on the lake for pull in lots of slabs on a slip float at various depths i just started in June so im not good ye give me tips if you will and i will work on it i have a vise and bobbin and junk i wip finish with my fingers so just look and tell me what you think

Not bad for your first and I hate to be the one to tell you, but they are not flies as they are jigs. Flies are tied on a bare hook and if a weighted head is wanted they put a beed or cone on it. Jigs have a lead or some type head that was poured on in a mold like what your using. Also if fishing a fly rod most fly fishermen will not use larger than a 1/60 and most want a 1/80 to a 1/120 weight. Just an FYI for you here.

I'm the same way. Just can't justify spending a lot on a hobby with the way things are for me right now.
Especially since I can catch fish in a cornfield with a 2X4, some bailing wire and corn nuts for bait.

Hard to tell much from the pics, but they look good. May just try to hide your thread a lil more with the chenille, just to keep it away from toothy critters n snags. Otherwise, I bet they catch fish.

Nice job, I pretty much fish my jigs all the time since I started tying.
Thanks everyone i tested the jigs when trout fishing in the lower Illinois and caught my limit of rainbows and a cupple small stripers my main fish is crapppie but i go out and try all diffrent kinds of fish just so i can say if caught some of those it was fun and the water was nice and cool in 100 degree weather we have been having
