I was wondering what the big deal is with bandit crank baits? Is it that they have every color in the world or is it something else. I was looking at norman's deep little n and bombers a and there is not really any difference that I can tell. Could someone help me understand if there is a real difference.
They all work. Bandit is just the favorite. Easy to get and lots of colors and sizes. I use wiggle warts, flicker shads, bombers, BPS XPS, Wally Marshals, Rebel Crank R's, etc. Buy a copy of Precision Trolling and it will give you the dive curves on all of the popular cranks.
I need sour apple. Any one know where I can get some of them sour apple bandits. BPS ain't got em.
Crappie will hit any bait that resembles bait fish. Speed can affect the bite more than anything in my opinion. I've see folks use rattle traps, bandits, Big O, and lots of other crank baits trolling Nimrod and the river. Some just troll jigs and do good. Remember line diameter affects how deep a bait will run. Not all lines of the same lb test are the same diameter. I was given some new Stren flouro 100% florocarbon in 8lb test. It is larger diameter and way more visable than the Berkly Vanish line I been using.
Bandits are what I started pulling with several years so I have never saw a need to change. They run true right out of the box so there is no tuning and the worst thing that you can have is a bait running side way because all the rod on that side of the boat will be tangled.
X2 with creek. True right out of the box. As someone that doesnt get to troll the cranks alot the last thing you want to do is have to tune a bait. Oh yea they are so pretty. I think Grizzly has the green apple
How much distance is really needed between rod tips (crank baits) when pulling to avoid alot of tangling?
I'm pushing them out the front so there is very little line out. I just didn't know if the extra $2 was worth it for them.
Is there any color that you would not leave the house without.
