as a spare for my boat trailer ? I have a spare and jack and other stuff in my tow vehicle if I have a flat on my boat trailer but I dont have a spare hub. Saw a trailer setting on the side of the road the other day and put me to thinking that I might need to get one. I know some of you guys if not all carry a spare hub with you and just wanted to get me one just in case

been thinking the same thought,,, guess I will get my book out and check there, sure would be nice to have and not have to look all over to fix a bering problem on the way to fishing
All you have to do is remove the spindle nut and slide your hub off.....then measure your spindle ( you will need a caliper to do this) where the two bearings run.... some are the same dia. front and back and some have a bigger bearing on the back. With the two meaurements you will have what you need to buy a spare hub complete with bearings and seals.
Measure the diameter of the spindle. That will tell you which hub kit to buy. A complete hub kit should cost you around 50 bucks. The sizes are 1", 1 1/16, 1 1/4, 1 3/8. I edited this post. I incorrectly said axle instead of spindle before.
