Decided to hit Cedar Creek for the 4th of July (morning). Got on the water a bit after 7 AM. The plan was to bluegill/shell cracker/etc. fish for a bit, hoping to land some nice size fish. We started out fishing not on the bank, but about 5-15 ft. from it. Working the bottom with Superworm, (which looked like a larger wax or meal worm.) Ended up catching a few but all were dinks. Moved on about the lake, fishing various spots, even put a jig on and hit a couple of brush piles, but no luck.
So, the weather decided to get interesting and a storm rolled through. Didn't get in it, kept fishing, but didn't have much luck. Another storm started to bear it's teeth so about 11 AM, we loaded up and came home. Got the boat loaded just in time, weather got bad and got to ride home in it.
Had a good time, just would have liked to had some fish. 2nd trip to Cedar Creek and haven't had much luck yet.
I think the weather had alot to do with it, as when the storm came, even the bait stealing ones shut down.
Water temp about 2 ft. down was around 83.1 everywhere we fished.
Good amount of boat traffic, didn't see if anyone was going any good. Wasn't crowed per say, but was busy.
Caught a total of 5 keepers, 1 really nice one and 4 smaller ones, probably had maybe 20 dinks.
